It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague, mentor, teacher and friend, professor Anne-Marie Kool, who passed away at age 68 on the 4th of June 2026.
She was one of the great pioneers of mission studies in Central and Eastern Europe. She was also the initiator and co-founder of the Central and Eastern European Association for Mission Studies (CEEAMS). She discovered, mentored, encouraged, and inspired many people in the region who now continue to work as minsters, missionaries, theological educators,community members, and leaders in various Christian communities.
Our entire CEEAMS network shares in the sorrow of losing her, alongside all who are mourning her. We are grateful for who she was and we will continue to treasure her legacy.
